Roulette Bets

As soon as you acquire some experience in gambling you will be sure what to do every moment of the game. Nevertheless, now it is important to understand how to make your Roulette bets in the right way. As you know, Roulette has very simple rules and it does not need strict or complicated strategy to win. All you have to do is to decide what sums of money you would like to bet and what kinds of bets you would like to make.

When your dealer pronounces “Place your bets” you should be ready to tell him/her about your decision. The last bets are taken when the ball is rolling and the wheel is spinning. No bets are taken after the dealer announces “No more bets” and the ball starts landing. Attention! Before you join a certain Roulette table, check its betting limits – they are explained on the special mark near the betting grid.

You can make two types of bets, which are different in the range of the numbers you bet on and the payouts you can get.

1. Inside bets are all bets that are placed inside the numbered grid of the roulette table layout such as:

• Straight-up: you bet on a single number (quantity of numbers – 1). To make this kind of bet you should place the chips in the middle of any number square you fancy.
• Split: you bet on two numbers (quantity of numbers – 2). Attention! You can bet only two adjoining numbers on the roulette table! Please, place your chips on the line between them.
• Street: you bet on three numbers (quantity of numbers – 3). Place your chips on the edge of the outside line of the numbers that you wish to bet on.
• Corner (or square): you bet of four numbers (quantity of numbers – 4). Place your chips on the intersection of lines between four adjoining numbers you want to bet on.
• Six line: you bet on six numbers at a time (quantity of numbers – 6). This bet covers two lines. Place your chips on the edge of an intersection of two lines.
• Additional bets offered by some casinos at American roulette table you might come across are trio bet (quantity of numbers – 3) that covers the numbers 0, 1, 2 or 00, 2, 3 and five number bet (quantity of numbers – 5) that covers five numbers – 0, 00, 1, 2 and 3.

2. Outside bets are all roulette bets that are placed outside the numbered grid and cover groups of numbers.

• Low bet (1 to 18) wins if the ball lands on a number from 1 – 18.
• High bet (19 to 36) wins if the ball lands on a number from 19 – 36.
• Red or Black bet wins if the ball lands on red or black.
• Even or Odd bet wins if the ball lands on an even or odd number.
• Dozen bet wins if the ball lands on either the first (1-12), second (13-24), or third (25-36) twelve numbers.
• Column bet wins if the ball lands on any of 12 numbers of the three lines on the roulette table (the 1st line is 1 through to 34, the second line is 2 through 35, the third line is 3 through 36).

No matter how emotional you are, be polite while betting. Do not ask silly questions to your dealer or fellow gamblers; do not shout aloud; to not touch or remove bets of other people; do not wait until the last moment to make your bet. Remember that Roulette is a noble game, therefore you must control your temper!
